As an IT Senior Solution Architect, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing and managing IT infrastructures that support a broad range of core R&D processes, ensuring a seamless and exceptional user experience. You will collaborate with developer teams to optimize the developer toolchain, systems performance and integration efforts
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and management of IT systems and infrastructure services, including public/private cloud and network infrastructure to meet the needs of the R&D organization
- Drive technology innovations and collaborate with R&D collaborators, Siemens corporate IT and other software/hardware vendors to identify, evaluate and implement cutting-edge solutions. Establish clear guidance on the new IT solution evaluation process specific to the local organization
- Coordinate the installation, specification, testing and service transition of software and hardware, ensuring they align with operational needs
- Run day-to-day operations and maintenance of server and network infrastructures (Windows/Linux server, VLAN, L2/3 Switch, Firewall) to ensure the reliability and robustness of IT services
- Optimize system performance and robustness by regularly assessing performance logs and supervising data
- Provide expert support for server/network troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operation and resolving user issues promptly
- Address security and performance issues, ensuring all systems meet industry standards and corporate security requirements. Participate in security audits and implement necessary changes. Ensure compliance with industry standards and corporate IT procedures
- Work closely with corporate IT, application operations and other teams to develop strategies and action plans for upgrades and integrations and deliver solutions (DevSecOps)
Required Skills
- Extensive (hands-on) experience with core IT infrastructure technologies
- Windows and Linux, including configuration and management of base infrastructure services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, Domain Controllers)
- Managing virtualized environments, including hosting hardware, network virtualization and cloud-based infrastructure
- Network and security technologies to ensure the integrity and security of IT services (e.g., Cisco, Fortigate, RADIUS)
- Familiarity with security principles for systems and network administration (i.e., vulnerability management, zero-trust architecture, etc.)
- Be proficient with modern developer tools and workflows (i.e., Git-based CI/CD) while outlining migration strategies for outdated tools
- Experience with IT/OT architectures for R&D environments/workflows based on innovative concepts, including migration strategy from today's solution
- A collaborative mentality with the ability to work effectively within multi-functional teams, ensuring alignment and encouraging innovation across departments
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex systems and proactively propose solutions
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of vision, lead initiatives, make decisions and drive improvements within the organization, supported by project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical collaborators. English is required, German is a plus
- A passion for staying up to date with the newest technologies and a willingness to adapt to an evolving technological landscape
